Our Outdoor Garden
We are very privileged to have a school garden. We have 8 plots at the back of the school. Our garden plots were originally designed by Kevin O’Donnell, former Churchill House gardener.
We have been very lucky to have Maura and Henry Gaynor, Val Caplen and Gearoid Pierce helping us over the past few years. Their interest and love of gardening has been infectious and we have harvested potatoes, swedes, parsnips, carrots, onions and peas. Maura planted a herb garden year’s ago and we have mint, lavender, rosemary and chives growing in our sensory garden. Fenit Development Association donated a greenhouse to the school which has been invaluable. John O’Sullivan and Henry Gaynor have worked tirelessly to help us sow, nurture and harvest our variety of crops. Thanks also to Mary and Catherine for helping us in the garden.
